Summary of Sleeping Beauty:
Sleeping Beauty is a classic fairy tale about a princess named Aurora, who is cursed by an evil fairy named Maleficent. When Aurora is born, her parents invite all the fairies in the kingdom to her christening, but they forget to invite Maleficent. In a fit of rage, Maleficent curses Aurora, saying that on her sixteenth birthday, she will prick her finger on a spinning wheel and die. One of the good fairies, however, changes the curse so that instead of dying, Aurora will fall into a deep sleep that can only be broken by true love’s kiss.
To protect Aurora, the king and queen hide her in the forest, where she grows up unaware of the curse. On her sixteenth birthday, Aurora accidentally pricks her finger on a spinning wheel and falls into a deep sleep, as Maleficent’s curse foretold.
Years later, a brave prince named Phillip, who has fallen in love with Aurora, learns of her curse and sets out to rescue her. He battles Maleficent, who transforms into a fearsome dragon, and finally defeats her. He then kisses Aurora, breaking the curse and awakening her from her long sleep.
Aurora and Prince Phillip are married, and they live happily ever after.
